Back to School Stock Photos
If you want to draw in your viewer, there is no better way to do it than to have the photo’s subject look out at them. This photo is soft and sweet, and it hinges on an age-old tradition: students giving apples to their teacher on the first day of school.
Do you remember admiring the perfectly pointy tips on your crayons each August? If you were lucky, you might have even had the extra large crayon box with the built-in sharpener! This bright, colorful photo with its fresh crayons conveys the hope and joy surrounding a child’s first days back at school.
Capturing students from a bird’s-eye view, this photo does a great job of showing how young students work together in the classroom. The circle is lopsided and the postures differ, but the students all seem to be working hard.
Not only does this photo convey students at work, but it also reflects the colors and weather of the season: orangey reds, golden yellows, fallen leaves. If your project involves both schoolwork and autumn, this could be your perfect photo.
Simple but successful, this image combines two of the objects most commonly associated with school: books and apples. The bright red apple contrasts with the pale blue background and off-white pages, creating a beautifully basic photo.
I love that this photo shows the real artwork of real kids. It asks the viewer to guess what the kids are painting, and it reminds them of the funny, bizarre, and adorable artwork they’ve seen children create through the years.
Golden and sharp, these pencils transport the viewer back to their schools days, when they filled in test bubbles with No. 2 pencils. The unique positioning of the pencils, with one pencil stretched out beyond the others, would work well for a project discussing mottos like “be yourself” and “don’t be afraid to stand out from the crowd.”
With its black and white tones, this photo captures the nostalgia of our school years. It would work especially well for an article addressed to alumni or maybe even an e-newsletter announcing a marching band reunion!
